Place a moratorium on longline fishing in the Pacific to prevent extinction of the Pacific leatherback sea turtle and 23 species of sea birds. Change the rules of the World Trade Organization to protect environmental laws worldwide. VICTORY! Prohibit development of "terminator" seed technology. VICTORY! Stop ozone depletion; ban the production of methyl bromide. Stop producing and exporting the pesticides chlordane and heptachlor. Stop oil exploration and rainforest destruction in Burma and Ecuador. Call for the immediate halt in production of ozone- depleting chlorofluorocarbons and to introduce substitute chemicals that are the least potent global warming gases.
